Shaping the future of cancer care, research, and collaboration in Europe

The 2nd EUnetCCC Annual Meeting will take place on 26-27 November 2026 at the Lisbon Congress Centre, bringing partners together in a city that has become a recognised venue for European cooperation in health and research. With strong institutional capacity and a growing ecosystem in oncology, Lisbon offers a productive setting for high-level coordination and joint reflection.

This edition will gather representatives from EU institutions, national authorities, research organisations, Comprehensive Cancer Centres, clinicians, and patient organisations, creating a collaborative environment where progress is assessed, priorities are aligned and the next implementation steps of the Network are shaped collectively.

As a flagship initiative under Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, the EUnetCCC is strengthening the quality, integration and coordination of cancer care across the European Union.

The 2026 Annual Meeting in Lisbon will serve as an important moment to review achievements, consolidate common approaches and deepen collaboration across Member States, reinforcing the collective effort to reduce inequalities and advance a more coherent and resilient European cancer ecosystem.

The first Annual Meeting of the EUnetCCC marked the official launch of the European Network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres and a pivotal milestone in the implementation of the Joint Action. Held in Paris under the theme “Shaping the future of cancer care, research and education in Europe”, the meeting brought together representatives from Comprehensive Cancer Centres across Europe to highlight the strategic role of CCCs as infrastructures integrating clinical excellence, research, education, training and workforce development, essential pillars for the long-term sustainability of Europe’s cancer systems.

The event introduced the EUnetCCC Network to a broad audience of centres, stakeholders and policymakers, demonstrating its added value for health systems and, ultimately, for patients.

Building on this momentum, the EUnetCCC community will gather again for the next Annual Meeting in Lisbon.
