This high-level policy event, organised in the framework of the EUnetCCC Joint Action and in the context of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, will bring together policymakers and key stakeholders to discuss the strategic role of Comprehensive Cancer Centres (CCCs) and the future of the European Network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres.

Strengthening Comprehensive Cancer Care in Europe event

A dedicated case study on Cyprus will illustrate how the CCC model and the European network can help address structural challenges faced by smaller Member States, while highlighting the opportunities that closer collaboration brings in terms of quality of care, research integration and access to innovation. The discussion will also explore the broader needs of Member States and the importance of ensuring the long-term sustainability of the network, so that it can continue supporting countries in developing and strengthening comprehensive cancer care systems across Europe.

Other cancer events organised the same week in Cyprus

The event will take place during a week hosting several major European cancer events in Cyprus, including the Cancer Mission Conference (European Commission), the ECHoS Cancer Mission Fair, and an event organised by the European Cancer Organisation, creating a unique opportunity for policy dialogue and coordination.

Important information - Regional Situation and Event Format

The organisers are closely monitoring the geopolitical situation in the broader region and are following the recommendations issued by national and European authorities. At this stage, no restrictions have been issued regarding travel to Cyprus, and other major European cancer events scheduled the same week are currently being maintained. However, as a precautionary measure, and should the situation evolve, the organisers reserve the possibility to transition the meeting to a fully online format. For this reason, participants planning to attend in person are encouraged to wait before booking travel arrangements or to choose flexible and refundable travel options whenever possible. Further updates will be communicated to registered participants if necessary.
