Second EUnetCCC Community of Practice with the focus on leadership and governance in Comprehensive Cancer Centres and complex cancer systems
Registration is now open for the second Community of Practice, to be held in Lisbon on 25 November 2026, ahead of the EUnetCCC Annual Meeting.
As Comprehensive Cancer Centres grow in scale and complexity, the way they are governed and led matters more and more. Today's cancer care rarely happens within the walls of a single institution. It depends on networks of hospitals, research organisations, regional services and national authorities working together. Leading in this setting means bridging different organisational cultures, priorities and decision-making structures.
This challenge will be at the heart of the second EUnetCCC Community of Practice, organised by the National Institute of Public Health of Slovenia (NIJZ) and Oslo University Hospital (OUS). The event will take place on 25 November 2026, from 14:00 to 18:15, at the Lisbon Congress Centre.
Leading across boundaries
This Community of Practice will focus on governance and leadership in Comprehensive Cancer Centres and complex cancer systems. It is designed as a space for honest exchange: participants will share what works, discuss the obstacles they face in practice, and explore together how to lead effectively across organisational and institutional boundaries.
An interactive afternoon of peer learning
The Community of Practice is not a traditional conference. Instead of a series of presentations, the program is focused on interactive activities, group discussion and collaborative work. Participants will engage directly with peers who face similar responsibilities.
The session is aimed at:
- Directors, CEOs and COOs of cancer centres and hospitals
- Professionals in governance and management roles
- Clinical and research leaders
- Programme and network coordinators
By bringing together participants from across the EUnetCCC community and beyond, the event will gather a wide range of perspectives on how cancer care is organised and led in different European contexts.
Building a community that lasts
Communities of Practice offer a lasting forum for professionals to share knowledge and learn from one another. In doing so, they support the development and implementation of the European Network of Comprehensive Cancer Centres.
Holding the event alongside the Annual Meeting gives participants the opportunity to extend their engagement with the network. It also makes it easier to continue conversations in the days that follow.
Registration
Places are limited, and early registration is strongly encouraged.
Register here by 6 November 2026.
